Ofsted Report 2017

I am delighted to attach the official report from our recent Ofsted inspection, 6 – 9th June 2017. This will be publicly available on the Ofsted website by 30July 2017.

We had a team of three inspectors who visited all classes and examined all aspects of the school and its wide ranging functions. I am thrilled to announce that in every aspect our school was graded as 'good' with several elements of outstanding teaching and practice.

Our school has undergone so many changes over the past few years and I am so proud of all our children and staff. There is a great deal to celebrate in achieving a solid ‘good’ under the revised and stringent current Ofsted regime.

This report recognises the improvements that have been made through the dedication and determination of our senior leadership team, the expertise of our teachers, the hard work and attitude of our children, together with the support of the Academy Trust, Governing Body and the backing of parents.

I am particularly pleased with the comments that “Pupils’ behaviour is good. They cooperate well with each other in lessons and the playground. They talk animatedly about how behaviour is now better and how they now feel safe in school," which results from our work on behaviour systems and creating a school ‘family’.

Also rewarding is the comment that, “The curriculum reflects the school’s core values, ‘Achievement, Resilience and Trust’, very well. It fully engages pupils and is thoughtfully designed to ensure pupils are fully prepared for life in modern Britain”.

I would like to thank parents for your support throughout the inspection, which was tremendous. The inspectors were very impressed with the overwhelmingly positive responses on Parent view and by the parents who called in to speak directly to them about their positive experiences with the school.

I am incredibly proud of this report and the recognition of our high expectations having been met. Moving forwards now, we will work hard on the three areas which kept us from an 'outstanding judgement' and we shall be hunting that down for the next visit!

Thank you for your continued support and the privilege of having your child as part of the Harrow Gate family.
